Daniel Jacob Radcliffe (born 23 July 1989) is an English actor, best known for playing Harry Potter in the feature film series based on the popular book series. Radcliffe has also made appearances in stage productions and a number of TV shows and films, including the ITV film My Boy Jack and the stage show Equus, which achieved much critical acclaim. He is worth roughly £20 million, mainly earned from the Harry Potter franchise.
Biography Early life Radcliffe was born in Queen Charlotte's Hospital, West London, England, the only child of Alan George Radcliffe, a literary agent, and Marcia Jeannine Gresham (née Marcia Gresham Jacobson), a casting agent who was involved in several films for the BBC, including The Inspector Lynley Mysteries and, most recently, Walk Away And I Stumble. Radcliffe's mother is Jewish and a native of Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex (her family's surname was anglicized from "Gershon"); his father is Protestant and originally from Northern Ireland.
Radcliffe first expressed a desire to act at the age of five. In December 1999, he made his acting debut in the BBC's televised two-part version of the Charles Dickens novel David Copperfield, portraying the title character as a young boy.

Harry Potter Pillow "Fawkes"ReviewsHarry Potter Fawkes Pillow This pillow is absolutely gorgeous! It is extremely well made. The fabric is extremely sturdy and appears as though it may repel wetness. The pillow cover can be removed and washed in a washing machine (although I would wash mine by hand so as not to risk removing the gorgeous colors). LOVE THIS PILLOW. Not exactly high quality but a cute and fun accent for any harry potter themed room. Average Rating:![]() |

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone Gift Set With Fluffy Collectible [VHS]ReviewsMy family loves this movie. It is definitely a classic and we have watched it a hundred times. I bought this for my Fiancé for Christmas to replace her old VHS copy. She was really happy and excited to finally have it on DVD. It was shipped quickly and it was cheap. I signed up for the thing that gives you free shipping if you get stuff through amazon and so shipping was totally free!! This was the first time I had tried ordering something used on Amazon, and I couldn't be happier! The box is in great condition, considering that it can be hard to keep cardboard boxes in good condition... and the DVD plays perfectly! not the greatest movie, but i like having a visual interaction with the world of hogwarts Fantastic film. The beginning of the series. The sweetest of them all. And really well done. Average Rating:![]() |

Cracker - The Complete Third SeasonReviewsExcellent service. The items arrived quickly and I totally enjoyed all the episodes. I wish they had more seasons to buy (I've bought all of the cracker seasons I could find on the amazon website, and hated for them to end.) First of all, I want to say straight out that every Cracker episode prior to this one definitely deserves 5 stars. This one, however, is the final compilation (in UK, it's released as series 1 and 2-- not divided into 3 seasons) and, it's a complete let down to the earlier episodes. White Ghost, the finale (not including the 2006 episode that also has nothing to do with earlier episodes)is the poorest conclusion for a character-driven series that I've ever seen. During the series, we met Fitz, a brash, alcohol-guzzling, chain-smoking psychologist. He is brilliant. He understands everything going on around him and can read a person like a book. Watching him is an experience. The stories are so well-written and the characters so intense, that this entire series (up until what is sold here as the Third Season) is a joy. But, the third and final season just doesn't tie up any of the loose ends. It gives some suggestion, but nothing really. And, by Fitz' mention of Penhaligan in the last episode here, any question that you might have felt had been answered was obviously incorrect. In the episode just prior to White Ghost, we find out Penhaligan has given her resignation. We find out how Cracker truly feels about his wife (well, kind of-- as he walks out of the hospital leaving her standing alone). And, that's that. In the last episode, we never see any closure. And, Fitz calls home, too, and his wife lives there! And, he asks for Penhaligan to be sent to Hong Kong to help with his case, and she can't come. But, that's all. So, we never find out how these three are now interacting with eachother and that's the biggest letdown after all this character buildup from the prior episodes. The last episode here is a good episode-- but it belonged somewhere in the middle-- it deserved to be a much earlier episode. For those of us who watched these faithfully, I believe this is a letdown. Obviously, I still recommend watching it if you've watched the other 2 sets. It's acted well, the writing is excellent, and the plots are tight. It's just a let down since we want some relationship closure. To those that have never seen this british crime series I say buy it you won't regret it, I had seen it off and on on PBS for years but this was the first time I came accross the entire collection.Robbie Coltrane ( from Harry Potter Fame) is an outstanding talent in the series and it is done so well, for those that don't know him, he has been a very popular stage and screen actor in Great Britan for years . Great wind-up to the series. The casting is perfect. As always, the stories are thought-provoking and gritty, but told with humour and compassion. Buy all three series, and watch them in order, or you'll miss the carefully crafted progression through the main characters' lives. My only complante is there is not enough. I want more. GREAT STUFF! Cracker: Series 1ReviewsI just finished watching the first series of BBC's CRACKER, a detective series featuring a quirky psychologist with plenty of personal problems himself. The first episode, I wasn't sure what I thought of this show but by the 3rd episode I was hooked. The main characters become well known to you, and you begin to wonder "will CRACKER solve his maritial problems, will he succumb to an affair?" "Will the Female Detective be able to compete in her largely male dominated profession?" "Will CRACKER'S son finally be able to adapt to a Real world?" "Will the Lead Detective, a new Dad, take to Fatherhood?" And so on. Plus the story lines of murder and mayham are good too. A different approach than I've seen, but an entertaining series. Definitely adult fare without being overly explicit or just throwing in sex or violence that don't quite fit the storyline. I loved this series and highly recommend it and all of the cracker series. Fitz is so witty and charming and you'll wish the story never ends. I love Robbie Coltrane. "Fitz," played by Robbie Coltrane, is a very interesting and engaging character. He's an amazing criminal psychologist and often more right about a case, profile, and motives than others might accept, but his own life is a mess. If you enjoy police drama that's a bit different and actually explains why crimials do what they do, then Cracker is for you. I'd been curious about this series ever since I'd heard of it. Additionally, I knew my favotite actor, Christopher Eccleston was in this series as well. I'm in the process of builing a collection all of Christopher Eccleston's recorded performances. I must say, that now that I have both Cracker season 1 and season 2 as well, I'm sorely tempted to get season 3, just to see how the rest of the stories play out. The series is not just about the cases but also about Fitz's life at home and the lives of the Police he works with. Please see my other reviews of this series it is well worth the purchase if you are into this sort of thing. I am a big fan of cracker and just love the collection. If you are a yank and have never watched it, buy it now you wont regret it. Average Rating:![]() |

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2-Disc Special Edition with Lenticular Acrylic Display Case)ReviewsMe being an antagonist lover, I loved this movie. First we see Snape clarifying his loyalty to the dark lord VOLDEMORT (That's right I said it, heheh) Then we see the weasley's house get destroyed, which I thought was a brutal middle finger to the protagonists, heheheheh. I loved this movie because it was darker and more sinister than the other Harry Potter films. Also I don't read the books, so maybe that's why I don't see any flaws in this film. GO LORD VOLDEMORT (HA, I said his name again) This franchise is one of the few that can safely refute the old adage that sequels are never as good as the original. Indeed, it's something of an amazement how the Potter franchise has managed to maintain such quality of filmmaking after so many sequels. I think that's why interest is still so high for these films after so many years and probably why the final book is being split into 2 films, to milk it for all they can - not to imply the story isn't worth it; I'm glad their are two more films to look forward to rather than just one. But, as with most of the other larger book translations (eg. Goblet of Fire) there was a lot of interesting moments cut from the film rendition that we can only hope may someday be restored in the eventual ultimate BD editions ala the first two films (assuming they were actually shot). As is, the sixth film in the Potter franchise plays more like a filler to build anticipation for the final installments, than a self-contained story with a unique and notable purpose of its own. The series has become progressively darker and more mature with each installment and this is no exception. Gone is much of the innocense and naive wonder that built this esoteric cobblestone world. But for those of us so enthralled, seeing it visually imagined as capably, dare I say, brilliantly, can be reward enough (assuming the final chapters make up for the story that this one lacks) even if there is little payoff in the end. As for the BD, I think Warner's authoring has gradually improved over the past couple of years. The days of their masters being biased for the limitations of the DVD format seems to be drifting further and further behind - at least for new release titles. Most of their catalog HD offerings still tend to be a little lacking in detail - often more than a little. But with films that have been recently mastered like this one, there's little reason to complain, based on 1080p/24 projection onto a 100" screen (smaller displays will no doubt be more foregiving, just as larger projected images could magnify problems I didn't notice or at least didn't find too cumbersome). This item came exactly as described and shipped super fast. I'd recommend this seller and would do business with them again. This is a great Movie! Some changes from the book but all in all a winner if you love Harry! The characters are becoming more mature with the seriousness of the threat of the deatheaters. My 'used' DVD arrived looking just like one off the shelf! No Harry Potter fan will miss seeing it. We'll all buy it no matter what any review says. I've read all the books and bought all the movies. This movie might be better for those who haven't. Director Yates has obviously got a broken wand. I'm not sure why he felt it necessary to not only rewrite the book's story line but to reinvent the environment. Hogwarts, the Weasley house and their surroundings have no continuity to previous films. Why? Like most fans I looked forward to this movie. I held off until I could get the special edition which I preordered. I was so disappointed after watching the first hour or so that it took me over two months to finally watch the whole movie. At least our expectations have been lowered to the point that the next movie may seem better. It may not be a bad movie in itself but when you love the book and the movie title is "Moby Dick" you don't expect to get "Free Willie". We'll all buy the next two Yates interpretations which will make his sales statistics look great. Who knows. Maybe magic will happen and he'll get a new wand. Since he butchered many of the lead ins to the last book my hopes are low. But who knows, he didn't do such a bad job on Order of the Phoenix. Average Rating:![]() |

Harry Potter Sorting Hat, BrownReviewsWe used this hat to sort children into houses at a Harry Potter themed birthday party when my child turned 8. I, personally, was disappointed that there was no face on the hat. I think a sorting hat should have a face. While there are some folds and a "sewn-tear" in the hat (remember it's supposed to be very old and beat up) that may remind you of the hat's face, it is a "no face sorting hat". Had I really known that I think I would have gone with another choice. It was not worth the expense of returning it and I didn't have time before the party otherwise I would have. That said--the children, including my son, did not seem to care that the hat didn't have a face. My son was perfectly happy with it. I, who paid for it, not so much... Seems ok quality and all. Probably a good sorting hat. I was really disappointed that it didn't have a face though. It was kinda hard to tell it was a sorting hat. Looked more like a tattered brown witches hat. I wouldn't have bought it if I knew. I use this hat to assign seats the first day of school!- It is AWESOME! Average Rating:![]() |

The Wand of HermioneReviewsThe wand arrived fast and in a nice box with plenty of protection. The wand looks nice overall but I thought it would be made of wood. Sadly the plastic leaves a little to be desired. Overall nice enough to add to your collection. Bought it for my wife and obviously will never really be used for anything but nice for display or keepsake. I bought this wand for my daughter's ninth birthday. I picked it over the light up wand because I didn't think the battery compartment would look authentic in the light up wand. This wand looks very authentic and like it came straight from Ollivander's. The box looks just like the boxes in the movie. The wand has a good weight and feels like wood even though it is resin. My daughter loves to practice her spells and with a little video magic, they even look like the real thing! The wand came quickly, has nice engraving, and has nice packaging. It has a little weight to it which makes it feel more substantial. My daughter carried it with her everywhere for 2 weeks after she got it. I think your kid needs to be into Harry Potter and/or pretend play. What a concept? She spent so many hours playing basically with a stick of wood. Yeah! She's 8 by the way. Fast and efficient delivery. Beautifully packaged in box with ribbon. Feels good and heavy in the hand, not flimsy. A wand for life, not just hallowe'en! I love this! The box it comes in is really nice, and the wand itself seems pretty durable. It's not like it's hand carved or anything, but it looks good. I think if you are a Harry Potter fan, you enjoy it. Hermione Granger's Time TurnerReviewsIt is a beautiful necklace and display item. It is fairly fragile, but beautifully crafted. I got this for my girlfriend for Christmas. (I'm twenty and she's eighteen, a big Harry Potter fan) She loves it, but I'm a little disappointed in it. Certainly not designed to be used as a necklace. It feels like it might break if you look at it wrong. It comes with a cool (but cheaply made) display case. It makes a great decoration, but isn't designed for any sort of use. I bought this Time Turner for my Harry Potter loving son, for Christmas. He loves it!! It's very small and fragile in detail, so it's not good for small children, but if you have a Harry Potter fan that's old enough to handle delicate items, you'll want this. I gave this as a gift and the person who I sent it to can't stop raving about it. It's exactly like the one in the movie and she loves it. I bought this product because I've been really behind on my Harry Potter reading and thought this could really help out. I'm only on the third book, and all seven have already come out!!! Every time I try to tell my friends about the cool stuff that happens in the Prisoner of Azkaban but they keep telling me spoilers like that Dumbledore dies (WTF??!?!!)!!!! Anyways, I haven't gotten to the part where Hermione uses the time turner, so maybe I'm doing it wrong, but this product is DEFINATELY not working for me!!! I wish I had a device that turned back time so I knew not to buy this PRODUCT!!!!!!!! Does anyone have any LEGITIMATE time turning devices I could use? The only one I've found so far is this guy ([...]), but it sounds like he wants to go a lot farther back in time than I want to go. I just want to read my Harry Potter books! Average Rating:![]() |

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Book 3)ReviewsWONDERFUL BOOK BUT WISH IT WAS IN BETTER CONDITION. HAD STAIN ON SIDE OF PAGES THAT LOOKS LIKE BLOOD!IDK In broad outline HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN follows the pattern of the previous two books: a magical adventure yarn about the young eponymous wizard told within the framework of another year at the English wizarding boarding school Hogwarts, the beginning and ending of the story in the company of Harry's insufferable muggle (regular people) relatives, the Dursleys. Book Number Three is, in the richness of its plot and its psychological depth, more intriguing than its predecessors. That it's not very nuanced reminds you that this is a children's tale, but it comes very close to standing on its own as an adult book as well. It's a dark story: more than ever before Harry has to face the murder of his parents--even hearing time and again the screams of his mother--and though this is unsettling, J.K. Rowling so deftly writes these scenes with children in mind that, for most pre-teen readers, it will not be unbearable. This is, perhaps, in part because Harry has by now become a beloved and trusted friend to young readers: they're willing to stand by him, as with Harry's bosom friends Hermione and Ron, through the many trials and occasional triumphs of Harry's life. The main thrust of the story follows the (previously unheard of) escape of a prisoner from the dreaded dungeon Azkaban. This escapee, a wizard and erstwhile best friend of the Potters named Sirius Black, is being hunted down by both muggle and wizarding worlds as a murderer. Indeed, it is widely believed in the latter sphere that not only had Sirius betrayed his friends, Harry's parents, to die, he is looking to murder Harry as well. Though containing interrelated subplots including involving a condemned hippogriff, a new power that Hermione is given, and, of course, the game of quidditch, this novel is principally concerned with the stalking of Harry Potter. Meanwhile, Harry continues to feel the cold venom of the Hogwarts Potions Professor Snape, and is newly befriended and aided by the latest Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Professor Lupin. J.K. Rowling seems to have her material well in hand with this entry in the Harry Potter saga. The previous two books, though charming and thoroughly likeable, seemed at times just a bit wooden. The writing in this volume is punchier; the story moves along swiftly. Just swiftly enough, in fact, to keep up, most of the time, the reader's necessary suspension of disbelief--only once in a while does the story give the reader pause to wonder, if only Sirius had been a somewhat better communicator, wouldn't a lot of the novel's problems have been avoided? Then again, that's life. All round, a decently written story that'll enthrall young readers and captivate adults as well. My 9 year daughter asked me to read this, as she loved it. I can't imagine a more brilliant and talented author. Everyone with a bit of child in him or her must read this book!! Gripping, suspenseful and heart rendering at the end! Enjoy!!!! My least favorite of the Harry Potter opus so far. The conclusion takes too long to unwind, without the eyes-glued-to-the-page excitement of the conclusion of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Book 2). Some fun new concepts are introduced--the helpful Marauder's Map, the creepy Dementors, the powerful Patronus--and two well-drawn new teachers are highlighted--Divinations Professor Trelawney providing comic relief and Dark Arts Professor Lupin providing the most useful instruction Harry's Hogwarts class has had in this subject, while at the same time driving the plot with a dark secret of his own. But the tale, of Azkabanian prison escapee Sirius Black tracking Harry through the whole school year, takes too long to build up tension during the school year and too long to wrap up at the end. And Professor Snape again bares his angry hatred for Harry in an overwrought performance worthy of a bad B-movie actor or Harlequin romance character--which is precisely out-of-character enough to suggest to me, since Rowling is a better writer than this, that she is setting up Snape for a sudden change of heart in a later book, such as .the fourth book Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Book 4). Am I the only one who thinks that Snape is a strong character who should become a sympathetic character? The book came on time. I got this book for a Christmas gift for my daughter. She enjoys reading Harry Potter Average Rating:![]() |

Harry Potter Wizard's Wand and Sticker Book (Mega Mini Kits)ReviewsI like the wand kit itself, but this vendor had already opened the product and rewrapped it in plastic wrap. The wand had been put together and was broken. It was not worth the effort of sending it back, but I would not recommend shopping from this vendor. My daughter saved up $9 to buy this - after about 1 hour it was already broken. She was not using it any more than to wave it around gently. :( The wand broke in the first hour after it was put together. I would not recommend this item to anyone expecting to use the wand. This is a cheap worthless piece of junk. It broke immediately out of the box. It is not one piece, but 3. You have to screw them together. Don't waste your money. Seller would not replace. This is maybe the worst 9 bucks i have ever spent!!!! the wand is totally unrealistic. it is made of really cheap plastic that breaks sooooo easily!!! the only good thing about this wand is the handle... it doesnt break and it actually looks realistic... but all in all do not buy this product... spend the extra money and get the one from the noble collection Average Rating:![]() |

Harry Potter Collector's Value GuideReviewsThe amount and variety of Harry Potter merchandise never ceases to amaze me. Rather than collect much of it, just buy this book. The pictures are detailed and printed on high-quality paper. Want to see what some foreign editions look like? It's in here. Want to find out some basic info about J.K. Rowling? It's in here, too. Sure it resembles a catalog, but what book of collectibles doesn't? Its biggest flaw is being out of date, thereby leaving out quite of bit of recent merchandise, but it's a good start. The focus is on items based on the books, not the movies, which is okay by me. I'm late to HP fandom, so I get to see what I missed out on. I also had the advantage of seeing this book in a store, so I knew what I was getting. It would be nice if there were an updated second edition, as this one only scratches the surface of HP collecting. The book definitely has an entertaining value, but as far as a book for collectors, it isn't up to par. Most of the sections on Harry Potter collectables are not up to date, and they feature very vague values or prices. I think the reason is that Harry Potter merchandise is fairly new, and so it is hard to calculate an item's worth when it just came on to the market. The book also includes several interesting sections on the upcoming movie, JK Rowling, and England, which are mildly entertaining. The thing that I thought was the most appealing in the book, however, was a section on Harry Potter around the world. I found it very interesting to see the covers of the Harry Potter books in Germany, France, Japan, and many other countries. Out of everything, I would say that that section helps redeem this book, which is otherwise a failure. this "book" is the worst book i have ever read. the reason is because the "author" is putting 101 advertizements for harry potter mechandise. i reapeat myself, DO NOT READ THIS BOOK! My previous review of this product was removed by Amazon after receiving 54 of 58 "helpful" votes, with the remark by the editor to me that "It is not clear from reading the review that you have read the book you commented on." I don't see how so many of Amazon's potential customers could disagree, and I assure you all that I have indeed read this "book" and that my comments below are thus informed. To even consider that this is a "book" is misleading. It is much more of a magazine format, and although it does contain some articles, they are obviously filler for what is otherwise an advertisement for Harry Potter merchandise, of which this book is one. The articles contain nothing that is not readily available elsewhere--much of it available on the net for free. This book seeks not to inform or entertain, but to part you from your hard-earned dollars with the least amount of effort on the publishers. If the "book" were half the price or less it might be a reasonable value. But since the Collector's Value Guide is as expensive as it is, beware of the information included--obviously the "authors" have no true sense of worth. Were this truly a Collector's Value Guide, there would be some discussion of value, and what value might actually mean when the market is flooded with cheap garbage like pieces of colored plastic that are supposed to be "magical stones" whose real purpose is to enrich their makers, not entertain children. But of course, no such discussion exists. Granted, not every Potter "collectable" is a monstrosity, but how terribly unfortunate that the real value of Harry Potter, the delight of a child, has been eclipsed by the soulless and almightly dollar. The Harry Potter phenomenon is amazing, and I'm delighted to see so many kids interested in reading, and engaged in the worlds of fantasy and imagination, but this "book" is not about that at all. Instead, the "writers" of this "book" have managed to make a "collectable" from a "book" about "collectables." Clearly the world is not the way I'd have it... I liked the books that CheckerBee Publishing have done in the past like beanie babies, but this book did not have the information I expected. I would not waste my money on this, unless you want to keep track of everything you have bought, but it is not even current.... Average Rating:![]() |

Personal life
Radcliffe previously attended the Sussex House School, an all-boys school,[33] and for his AS levels at City of London School. He achieved A grades in the three AS-levels he sat in 2006, but then decided to take a break from education.
Radcliffe has said that he is "very proud of being Jewish" and is not religious. He plays bass guitar (taught by Gary Oldman, who played Sirius Black in the Harry Potter films) and is a fan of punk rock music; he admires a diverse lineup of bands, from Sex Pistols to Arctic Monkeys and more recently Hard-Fi, Jack Penate and Kate Nash. His favourite band is The Hold Steady. He is also a fan of Fulham Football Club. While on set, to keep busy, he enjoys playing table tennis and video games with his fellow cast members. He is close friends with Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Tom Felton and Gary Oldman.
Radcliffe appeared on the Sunday Times Rich List in 2006, which estimated his personal fortune to be GB£14 million, making him one of the richest young people in the United Kingdom. He made another appearance on the British young people's rich list in 2007, which placed him as the thirty-third richest young person in Britain with an estimated wealth of £17 million. He is reported to have earned approximately £250,000 for the first Potter film, around £5.6 million for the fourth film, and more than £8 million for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Despite his wealth, Radcliffe has said he does not have expensive tastes. Radcliffe has said that his main expense is books, as he "read[s] a lot". Radcliffe has been a supporter of various charities, including Demelza House Children's Hospice in Sittingbourne, Kent, to which he has requested fans make donations in lieu of birthday presents. In February 2005, Radcliffe put a "Hogwarts Crew" T-shirt which he autographed up for auction to help raise money for the Tsunami victims in 2005. His T-shirt was part of the Tsunami Celebrity Clothes Auction which raised money for the Rebuilding Sri Lanka Organization. He wore the t-shirt during the making of the film, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. These T-shirts were only issued to members of the cast and crew. His shirt raised £520 or $811.80. He has become a keen follower of cricket and attended the first England v India test match on his 18th birthday.
