Smallville

Smallville is an American television series developed by writers/producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, based on the DC Comics character Superman, created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. The television series was initially broadcast by The WB. After its fifth season, the WB and UPN merged to form The CW, which is the current broadcaster for the show in the United States. Smallville premiered on October 16, 2001, and began its eighth season on September 18, 2008. It is filmed in and around Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

The plot follows the adventures of a young Clark Kent's (Tom Welling) life in the fictional town of Smallville, Kansas, during the years before he becomes Superman. The first four seasons focused on Clark and his friends' high school years. Since season five, the show has ventured into more adult settings, with some characters attending college and an increase in the introductions of other DC comic book superheroes and villains.

Smallville inspired an Aquaman pilot, which was not picked up by The CW network, as well as promotional tie-ins with Verizon, Sprint, Toyota, and Stride. In other media, the show has spawned a series of young-adult novels, a DC Comics bi-monthly comic book and soundtrack releases. The show broke the record for highest rated debut for The WB, with 8.4 million viewers tuning in for its pilot episode

I bought this for a friend who is absolutely in love with Smallville/ All things Tom Welling. Overall I think she will love it, but it is a little misleading. For example the poster has a white border which it doesnt show in the picture. You can tell its a reproduction poster, but it says that. However I think any smallville fan would love this. Not a bad product for a good price!

Liked the songs but later realized i got cd more because of the hottie on the show then for the music.

I bought this as a birthday gift to my boyfriend, who is a big fan of Smallville. He enjoyed it so much that he can't stop listening to all the tracks. I did like it too. Smallville songs are so great and unique.

Though I'm over 50 years old this CD rocks! It highlights Clark Kents emotional roller coaster in Smallville. I think it's a must have if you're in to Smallville.

I enjoyed every song on this CD. When I bought it I way overpayed for it, but it's definately worth the purchase.

The series is great. I like the way music is mixed with the show. I am looking forward to season 8. I have listened to this CD many times and enjoy it each time I listen.

I should give 5 stars and I would have if they never had a song missing. I've checked the list on vol 1 to 2 and the song that is missing is "Deeper Water" by Minnie Driver. This song was played when Chloe is talking to Clark and said to him "if you ever want to talk..." so I hope this song will be in volume 3.

I bought this disc after reading other reviews and as most people said, it is a fine disc. An eclectic mix of musical styles and a well produced CD.

There are so many great songs that are off the beaten path. You will enjoying hearing some you recognize and some that are new. If you like indie rock/music this collection is outstanding. It also reminded us of one of our favorite tv series. We all enjoyed it.

It is great to get some of the music from the show on 1 great CD!

Great songs from the vol.2 Smallville soundtrack: Metropelis Mix. Excellent 14 tracks!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

With the same alternative-pop theme as the first Smallville collection, this second disc once again reveals just how much the show integrates music into its plot lines and overall feel. The track list includes familiar songs such as the All American Rejects' "Dirty Little Secret," and Depeche Mode's newest hit "Precious," but there are also a few surprises...

This is a funny movie and well written for the part played by Martin Short. Some of the funniest comedic lines ever. I wish they would put it out on DVD as it's a lost comedic gem in my opinion.

A very 80's movie. It is almost fun to watch it for the nostalgia of all of the 80's references such as plastic furniture, shoulder pads, neon, etc. The actors are good but Martin Short is miscast in the role of a sexy leading man. His comic talent is wasted and lots of partial nudity. Martin Short is normally an extremely funny guy but he just doesn't seem comfortable with this character. The plot is really quite dull and it seems like this movie is trying to be a "Date from Hell" picture and trying to be a simple romantic comedy at the same time and fails at both. The screenplay is the main culprit of the death of this film but the director is also clearly at fault. One prolonged sex scene is even shot in slow motion. It makes the love scene just look silly not sexy. After watching this movie I wanted my 90 minutes back.

"Cross My Heart" went virtually unnoticed upon release in 1987, (following on the heels of Martin Short's success in "Innerspace"). I hope it's headed for sleeper status, because it's a *wonderful* little seriocomedy, about two people with a remarkable amount of attraction to each other, who lack the confidence and courage to be open about their lives and their feelings during a third date. The characters are three-dimensional, Short and O'Toole have a sizzling chemistry, and the script is appropriately low-key and subtle. It isn't accurate to call "Cross My Heart" a "date from hell" movie, because it doesn't fall into the same category as comedy-of-errors films, like "After Hours" or "Into the Night," where two people are thrust into a series of disasters. Instead, most of the characters' problems and conflicts spring from slight inadequacies and insecurities, and they retain a basic compatibility that *will* enable them to succeed, if they can only overcome a few obstacles and be straight with each other. The film is a little stagy (three or four major sequences, with the two leads carrying all of the weight), but remains touching, funny, and relatable; it has a emotional aura over it (like Emile Ardolino's "Chances Are") that is rare in romantic comedies. As usual, Annette O'Toole demonstrates why she is one of the most gifted, appealing, and underrated actresses in American cinema. The film is a pleasant surprise -- definitely take a look, you'll be rewarded.

This season is pretty good, but the quality is definitely decreasing ever since some of the major actors started leaving the show, and new producers took over.

I like alot of others was originally a fan because we wanted to see Supermans back story. Other then the familar names all of us Superman fans know, you will hardly recognise this gore fest. The constant comparisons to Jesus are offensive. Clark can only save you from accidents!Jesus saves souls. (they bring it up,not me). Gory season with rip and slash thanks to Doomsday. Nothing like the comics where doomsday fights superman to the death. Dream secuence with clark ripped in half alone was enough for me. Impalements etc...Lana comes back again and the supposedly extremely moral Clark ends up in bed with her.. Most good shows you want to find out what happens, this show we are waiting for clark to put on the cape, to fly, to be a hero. Here he's a guy whos so passive it drives you crazy...Time to end this show..

This makes my collection current. I watched them as soon as I got them. LOVE IT!!!!!! Makes me want the 9th season already.

I really like this series, i been fallow since first season and every one of them are great. About this season i really like how klark keep dealing with the part of been a hero, many choices have to do and always there is a consecuence for each one of them. This time they show more closer to the original series, many characters are introduce this time, and everything is gettin in place. I hope you liked it and enjoy it.

Smallville - The Complete Seventh Season Smallville - The Complete Seventh Season

This season Clarks cousin Kara (Supergirl) is introduced. We meet Laura, (Clark)Ka-el's mother, who happens to be played by Helen Slater who stared as Supergirl in the 1984 movie. Brainiac continues to cause problems and Lex finally goes to the dark side by killing his father. Good season, I liked it.

Season 7 of Smallville raises the stakes again just as every subsequent season appears to do. Two major differences in this season are as follows: 1) The addition of Laura Vandervoort as Kara (Supergirl). She is adorable and viewers are sure to fall in love with her instantly. The character adds a new dimension to the already outstanding cast ensemble and allows for episodes which give more insight into Clark's Kryptonian heritage. 2) This is the first season (in my opinion) to have an almost completely fluid season-long story arc. In other words, there are very few, if any, stand alone episodes which take the story in an (temporary) unnecessary direction. In OTHER other words, no boring episodes! Also, I have to give props to the producers for even after 7 seasons they have not strayed away from the simple formula that made Smallville so successful. The show still taps into it's roots and keeps itself grounded. Overall, this season meets and exceeds my expectations and really sets the bar high for Season 8.

Fast and reliable shipping! The item was handled with care & was not damaged and brand new! I've had problems in the past with TV Show cases being broken on arrival but haven't had this problem for a year which I'm thankful for!

This review isn't going to be very long. It doesn't need to be. By now most people who have watched Smallville are already fans and will be just a delighted with Season 7 as they were with seasons 1-6!

Kicking the season off, Clark fights a bizarro version of himself, picking up the cliffhanger from the previous season. Great start. Then things get even more cool with the emergence of a super . . . girl? Yup, you guessed it, Supergirl herself has arrived on Earth. Her name is Kara. She is Clark's cousin from Krypton and Laura Vandervoort does a fantastic job as the Girl of Steel, who not only proves that blood runs thicker than water, but also has no fear of heights like her farmboy cousin and does plenty of flying to prove it. Not only is there one Supergirl in this season, but two. Kinda. Helen Slater, who played Supergirl in the 1984 movie of the same name, made an appearance as Clark's Kryptonian mother, Lara, in the episode that shared her namesake. Season Seven was a load of fun and was one of the best ones of the series so far. The only episode I didn't really like was "Wrath," where Lana gets Clarks powers and uses them to get her revenge on Lex. Again, this kind of thing was done before in Lois and Clark (the power transfer), and I was getting tired of seeing these repeat ideas as they had done Lois and Clark-type episodes in the past. Speaking of which, the Dean Cain episode, "Cure," made me feel like I was watching Lois and Clark all over again and though this episode was more filler than moved the Season Seven story arc along, it was cool to see Dean Cain back in the Superman universe. They even called his character Curtis Knox (see the initials?). The last thing that bothered me about this season, more specifically the episode, "Quest," was the major playing up of Clark being some sort of messiah. I'm a Christian, so this probably bothered me more than most, but that aside, it still was overdone. Okay. We get it. Clark's going to save the world one day. Move on. This season was a step up from Season Six, so 4.5 stars out of 5. Recommended. A.P. Fuchs

Average Rating:

Super-sexy and super-flirty, Clark's super-cousin Kara (Laura Vandervoot) made the splashiest addition to the cast in Smallville's season 7. Unfortunately for Clark (Tom Welling), she's more advanced in her powers than he is (she can fly), and she's not the kind to shy away from drawing attention to herself, whether it's in a skimpy bikini or garnering notice from Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) and Jimmy (Aaron Ashmore, joining the opening credits)...

Smallville 2010 Wall Calendar Smallville 2010 Wall Calendar

Great quality as always and nice pictures inside. My only issue is why do I have to endure 2 months of Davis Bloome and only get 1 month of Clark Kent? This is a Superman show still right?

As a fan of Smallville, I laways enjoy my yearly Smallville Calendar. This is no exception. Love the pictures and comments on the calendar, and especially love the Group shot.

The graphic art is unattractive on this calendar, and I wish the months had been screen captures of fabulous Smallville moments rather than cheesy posed shots with the actors. And I question the necessity of devoting two months to Davis Bloome (Sam Witwer). It is a Season 8 calendar, so I guess as long as you aren't expecting a beautiful photo of Clark's awesome Season 9 rooftop save of Lois & Oliver, you'll be fine. I expect too much.

This is great calendar for the Smallville fan, whether you are just a average or a hardcore fan.

Another great Calendar for Smallville. Has Photos centered around season eight with Tess Mercer and Davis Bloom as well as others.

Smallville season 7 official companion book is great! It has much information on Smallville season 7! It's got Trivia, pictures, photos of the cast, information on Laura Vandervoort and how she was picked to play Kara Kent aka Supergirl. A

I absolutely love this series of episode guides! "Smallville" is one of my all-time favorite shows, so naturally the need is very strong to collect everything having to do with it! I have always loved going "behind-the-scenes" of a show or film, and discovering new insights that totally enrich the experience! If you're looking for the most thorough, detailed and enjoyable guide to this tv series, these are the books you need! I only hope that Titan keeps publishing further books through to the eighth and ninth seasons of this wonderful show!

THIS IS A REALLY NICE READ ABOUT THE TV SHOW SMALLVILLE. THE BOOK GIVES US A RUNDOWN ON EACH EPISODE AND SOME INSIGHTS FROM THE WRITERS AS TO WHAT THEY THOUGHT OF THAT PARTICULAR EPISODE AND SOME PRAISE FOR THE ACTORS WHO PERFORMED WELL. THE BOOK ALSO GIVES A SEGMENT WITH ACTORS WHO DISCUSS THEIR CHARACTERS AND WHAT THEY DID THAT SEASON. THEN WE GET A BEHIND THE SCENES LOOK AT THE CREW WHO DO ALL THE PRODUCION VALUES ON THE SHOW. ALONG WITH SOME REALLY NICE COLOR PHOTOS OF THE MAJOR CHARACTERS. ALL IN ALL THIS BOOK GIVES THE READER ALOT OF BANG FOR THE BUCK. RECOMMENDED FOR FOR ALL FANS OF THIS GREAT SHOW.

I LOVE Craig's Season companion books. They're wonderful. He includes interesting details that I wouldn't have known otherwise, and I love reading the excellent quotes he got directly from the cast for this book. The quotes I liked best were the ones from Phil Morris.

This book is great. I love the detail, explanation, and facts. I found out many things that I did not catch while watching the seasons. Great product.

Smallville one of TV's best shows. This gulde helps prepare you for great entertainment, before you watch each episode.

More insight that you could imagine. If you are fan of the show all volumes will take you deep into the episodes. Highly recomended! BEST SHOW EVER!!!

The book ist well structured and contains interesting information about the characters on the show and the actors themselves. Also the episodes are explained in a comprehensive way , so that the storylines become understandable even to those people who are not Smallville addicted ones yet. These days I own all the three companion books about Smallvilles Season One to three, which I purchased from amazon.com online. I like these books a lot and have almost completed them one by one. The three official companions can only be recommended ! I`m already looking forward to The official Companion Season 4 by Craig Byrne, which I hope will contain coloured pictures. THats why I rated this item with only four stars and not five. In the first three companions all the pictures where in black and white, besides a coloured photo gallery ( the actors ) in the middle of each book.

Titan Books does an excellent job summing up the Smallville seasons in all their books, and this third one was no exception. The cast quotes are well chosen and informative, and the behind-the-scenes anecdotes are always amusing. Certainly worth picking up if you're a fan of the show.

For anyone who loves Smallville this book is for you. It has cool behind the scenes looks into the cast and crew of Smallville. It also has some quotes from the shows and lets you in on things that happen on the set. If there are some things that you don't understand in an episode this book will help you out.
